Health, Safety and Compliance
Improving and maintaining the health and safety culture of the University Community.
The Health, Safety and Compliance Team provides help, advice and support to effectively manage health and safety across all departments and activities including teaching, research, staff and students. It also ensures that the University understands and carries out their legal and moral responsibilities in relation to the health, safety and welfare of staff, students, contractors and members of the public.
University Health and Safety
Health and safety is the responsibility of everyone and any individual carrying out work on behalf of or in connection with the University. It is an integral and important part of everyone’s duties. The University has a strong commitment towards implementing a good health and safety culture throughout the organisation, together with a secure environment to work and learn in, fundamental to its success.
The University recognises and accepts that it is responsible for complying with health and safety legislation and ensuring the health, safety and welfare of its employees and others who may be affected by its business. Through information, instruction and training, the University seeks to provide and maintain effective management by the implementation of appropriate and necessary health and safety arrangements.
Our Policy
The University is committed to ensuring the health, safety and welfare of all staff and others who could be affected by its activities so far as is reasonably practicable. This Policy has been produced in order for all staff and others to be aware of both the University's and their own responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act.

Our Commitment
Our Health and safety statement identifies the commitment of the ºÚÁÏÈë¿Ú to provide and maintain a working environment and systems of work that are, so far as is reasonably practicable, safe for employees, students, visitors and other persons affected by the University's undertaking. It sets out the commitment to providing effective leadership and management of health and safety.
