Tyler's BSc (Hons) Computer Games Enterprise degree gave him experiences that influenced his career path

In the run up to the end of my A Levels, I had absolutely no idea where I wanted to go or what I wanted to do. I’d just completed two years of courses I hadn’t enjoyed very much, and going to university was the last thing I wanted to do.
After a period of reflecting on what I wanted to do, I realised that one of the constant sources for inspiration in my life had been video games. One of the earliest memories I have is playing video games with my dad on an old PlayStation. In the run up to university, I was heavily invested in Esports, a competition for video games. I was attending events and competing at a high level. I started exploring how I could combine my passion for video games and Esports with my future development and stumbled across the ºÚÁÏÈë¿Ú’s Computer Games Enterprise course. The course looked like the perfect combination of technical development and creativity.
Without a doubt, joining the ºÚÁÏÈë¿Ú was the best decision I've ever made. Without the support or encouragement of the university, I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to complete my placement year at Intel.

Without a doubt, joining the ºÚÁÏÈë¿Ú was the best decision I’ve ever made. Without the support or encouragement of the university, I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to complete my placement year at Intel. In addition, I wouldn’t have had the pleasure of presenting the Esports Play of the Year award at the 2017 Golden Joystick Awards in front of a few hundred thousand viewers. These experiences have been fantastic and have influenced my future career path massively.
After graduating, I’ll to continue to work with technology; I’ve secured my place on a graduate scheme with a large cloud computing company. As well as this, I’ll continue to run my own Esports business on the side and I hope to combine my passions for technology, Esports and games in general.
